Funhouse Article
“This is my most vulnerable album to date,” says P!nk, 29, who has no problem fessing up to the fact that the split from her husband, motocross star Carey Hart, earlier this year is the subject of some songs on Funhouse. “On my first record, Can’t Take Me Home (2000), I was pissed off at a guy and that was cathartic for me. M!ssundaztood (2001) was very personal and even more cathartic. I remember talking about the song ‘Family Portrait’ in interviews and just crying. Each record got a little deeper and more cathartic than the last. In two years I will probably have worked through all of my issues.”
But, for now, one issue that P!nk is still working through is heartbreak. “Heartbreak is a Mother***ker is what I originally wanted to name the album,” laughs the singer. “But this album is not all about that. It’s not just a breakup album. There is a lot of that, but there is fun happening too and that’s why I named it Funhouse in the end.”
P!nk admits that it felt as “scary” as it felt “great” to reach new depths of vulnerability on such tracks as “Please Don’t Leave Me,” a painfully honest love song disguised by upbeat, cheerful, and happy instrumentation with sing-along “da da da da”s in the background, and “I Don’t Believe You,” the heart-wrenching ballad featuring P!nk’s raw vocals over simple piano and strings. (Both songs were co-written with Max Martin.)
“It’s like letting down the armor and admitting I’m human. I’m a girl. We all want to be loved and love. That’s all we want,” she explains. “‘Please Don’t Leave Me’ is also kind of funny though. It’s like, ‘Okay, I’m an *******, but love me anyway.’ I’m trying to be better. We’re all a work in progress. And, ‘I Don’t Believe You’ is one of my favorite songs because it’s just so naked. It’s like taking a deep breathe and saying, ‘Here I am. Take me. Take your best shot.’ ‘Mean’ is a country-Aerosmith-rock song that asks, ‘How did we get so mean?’ Everything starts out so yummy. ‘Where did we lose the plot? How is it that you once were holding the door for me and now I’m slamming it in your face?’”
P!nk also pulls no punches tackling the breakup issue on the first single, the infectious pop-rocker “So What,” which hit No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 on September 18, 2008 making it the singer’s first No. 1 solo hit song in her career. (She previously shared the top spot on the Hot 100 with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, and Mya on 2001’s “Lady Marmalade” from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.)
On “So What,” P!nk gets real once again but this time it’s infused with her trademark humor as evidenced by such funny-honest lyrics as “I guess I just lost my husband/I don’t know where he went/So I’m gonna drink my money/I’m not gonna pay his rent.” Having her ex, Carey Hart, in the Dave Meyers-directed video diffused some of the reaction to the lyrical content. “At first I was kind of irked because everyone was like, ‘Well, wait. I thought the split was amicable and now she’s talking **** about him?! What the ***k?’ It’s hypocritical.’ But once everyone saw the video and saw that Carey was in it, it shut everybody up, which was lovely,” explains P!nk, who collaborated with Martin once again for this track. “Carey hadn’t heard the song before he did the video. That’s how much he trusts and loves me. He pretty much just rolls his eyes, throws his hands up in the air, and hugs me. He gets it. He gets me. It’s nice.”
Although P!nk expanded her emotional and musical horizons on this new collection, the one song she is most proud of is “Crystal Ball,” an acoustic guitar ballad written with Billy Mann, who worked on such past hits as “Stupid Girls,” “Dear Mr. President,” and “I’m Not Dead,” among others. “I am proud of the songwriting, melody, and vocals on that song,” she says. “I recorded it in one take and we didn’t mix it. It just went straight to master. It was all about a vibe and not about perfection or being polished. I just love that song and I loved recording it. Me and Billy got in a room and lit some candles, had some wine, and threw up a guitar mike and two vocal mikes and just went with it.”
Other revealing tracks include “It’s All Your Fault,” in which she proclaims in the lyrics “I conjure up the thought of being gone, but I’d probably even do that wrong.” While in “Glitter in the Air,” P!nk asks a lot of questions such as, “Have you ever looked fear in the face and said I just don’t care?” and “Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?” P!nk admits, “I still don’t have some of the answers to the questions I pose on this record. I’m still figuring it all out.”
But as P!nk said, Funhouse isn’t just a breakup album. “Bad Influence” (written with Billy Mann and Butch Walker) is a straight up rock chick party song that makes no apologies for wilding out with your gal pals once in a while. “I’m with the Hindus on that one,” laughs P!nk. “Pleasure for pleasure’s sake is not a guilty sin.” “Sober” is another song that has nothing to do with heartbreak. It’s a dark ditty with strings about how one wishes they could be fearless and lose their inhibitions without having a vice.
The bluesy “One Foot Wrong” is about an acid trip gone bad. “I used to be into a lot of crazy ****,” says P!nk. “Acid’s the most awful drug ever. Don’t take it. But, that song is also about losing control and how easy it is to lose the plot in life and teeter on the edge.” Meanwhile, “Ave Mary A” takes on the world and social issues, asking for help in letting go from “the chaos around me” and dealing with a “world gone mad.”
As for the title, Funhouse, P!nk explains, “I look at life like a carnival. Clowns are supposed to be happy, but they are really scary. Carnivals are supposed to be fun, but really they are kind of creepy. But, we go and we buy cotton candy and we force our laughter and we get on rides and we strap ourselves in and we do it. And that’s like life to me, and love. Love is supposed to be fun, but it can sometimes be really scary. And the funhouse mirrors that make you look so distorted that you don’t recognize yourself and you ask yourself, ‘How did I get here? How do I get out of here?’ But, you think that you want to do it again. That is the same as love and life. It’s a metaphor for being in love and for life.”
The title track itself is a funky rocker with the fists-in-the-air refrain of “This used to be our funhouse/But now it’s full of evil clowns/It’s time to start the countdown/I’m gonna burn it down.” “It’s about when the box you’re in doesn’t fit anymore, burn that ***ker down and start a new one,” says P!nk. “This was the first song I did with Tony Kanal of No Doubt and his writing partner Jimmy Harry. I fell in love with working with them. We wrote fun ***king songs together. We did ‘Funhouse’ and ‘Sober.’”
P!nk stepped out of her comfort zone in the recording of Funhouse by working away from her usual stomping grounds of Los Angeles and New York for the first time. She recorded “One Foot Wrong,” a bluesy slow-cooked rocker showcasing the grittier side of the singer’s vocal talents, with British musician/writer/producer Eg White (Francis Anthony “Eg” White, who has worked on No. 1 albums by British singers Duffy and Adele) in his home studio in London. And, she headed to Stockholm, Sweden to work with Max Martin, who previously co-penned such hits as “Who Knew,” “U + Ur Hand,” and “Cuz I Can” from 2006’s I’m Not Dead.
“It was really good to get out of my house and get away from my life. No distractions. No phones,” explains P!nk of her overseas sessions. “It was my first time working with Eg White and I just adore him. He’s eccentric and messy and ***king awesome. We worked in his basement while his wife would be cooking dinner upstairs with their three babies and I just loved it. It was really inspiring and a great change of pace – different people, different energy.”
With its mix of sad, thoughtful love songs and fun, upbeat, feisty rock anthems. P!nk achieved exactly what she wanted to on Funhouse. “It feels good to get people not just emoting and releasing all that energy, but getting angry and motivated too. It’s group therapy.”

News of the World Article
she reveals that their 2year marriage ended, not because either had cheated or they'd fallen out of love, but because pink couldnt deal with being a wife."we all get into playing roles when we're in a relationship" she explains. "im the wife, youre the husband, well the roles didnt work out for us""it doesnt mean we dont love each other. we love each other very much and even though the marriage roles didnt work out we're still trying to work out which roles do"
they may no longer be married but pink and carey cant seem to live without each other. they even make light of their divorce in the video for pinks new single so what, which stars carey as her emotionally unavailable husband. in it she takes a chainsaw to a tree trunk etched with their names.
"staying friends with carey was really important to me, if you have an authentic connection with someone you can love them without possessing them"although they were married for only 2 years they were together for 6 and a half, first meeting in 2001 at a sports event where carey was performing. three months later they were a couple.
"carey asked me to marry him just 2weeks after that" she says "but i said, "ewwww, no! i'm afraid to be in love. but carey is such a good man. four years after he proposed to me i proposed to him instead"
at a motocross race meeting, pink, real name alecia moore, impulsively grabbed a pit stop board and wrote "will you marry me"-flashing it as carey sped past her. carey-who later admitted he nearly crashed his bike-happily accepted.
"he knew what he was getting into. i can be crazy and out there" pink admits. "i'd drive him crazy when we had fights:"go away....come back.........go away............come back" im a walking conflict".
"and you know what really makes carey mad? we'll be having a passionate fight and he'll be building up to his point when i'll start laughing and say "can you just come over here and kiss me?" that makes him so angry"
"but there does come a point when you see the ridiculousness of it all. you turn on the tv and see a child in hospital and you think:"ok, thats going on and we are fighting over who finished the mustard?"
"she declines to say exactly which fight ended their marriage, but confesses that the strain of their conflicting work schedules took its toll. at one point they were lucky if they saw each other once a month.
"its such a cliche when you talk about a hollywood divorce, but the scheduling did get very hard" pink admits. "and it seemed that i was always the one left in charge of it. i got tired of being schedule woman."
"life got a little strange for a while" she continues. " i was a gymnast for 8 years and i learned that when youre twisting through the air you have to have a spot to look at to keep your focus. well, thats how the whole of my life got. i lost my focus and when that happens you just have to stop and replant your feet on the ground"
the couple announced their separation on february 19th this year and pink moved to malibu, where she lives with her three dogs. shes now happily into the single lifestyle. "ive got to know myself again, ive made more friends in the last 6months than i had in the previous 10years.
"the grammy award winner has also thrown herself into recording her new album, funhouse, out next month. this will be her 5th album-the 1st four sold more than 22million copies worldwide.
so, does a new album signal a new start for pink, one that sees her putting her past relationship behind her?
"im kind of boy crazy at the moment, but im strictly:"look dont touch" until i find someone who's yummier than carey, i'm not interested. and i havent yet..."
pinks single so what is out on september 29th. her album funhouse is out on october 27th.

The singer denudes here her soul!
The sensitive girl in p!nk.
'I guess I just lost my husband. I don't know where he went. So I'm going to drink my money. I'm not going to pay his rent... I hate marriage.'
In the first strophe from her new number 'so what' sounds P! NK properly depressive. We felt it is high time for us to ask her about her ex Carey hart, her dogs and her new album!
Hey P!nk! Your new single 'So What' looks like a direct attack on Carey. Do you try to take revenge on him ?
(Consider deep) 'In fact I do not know how well I the significance of 'So What' must explain, and I thought it was a funny song and Carey thought that too and so I kept it. We are both silly people, that is why we are still the best friends. But there is also a very sad side to 'So What'. What I mean is that Carey and I both act tough because we have much sorrow...'
On a specifically moment in the video you lop weeping a love tree. Do you want to hit so a sensitive snare in your fans?
'Of course I do not think that people feel sorry for me. But I am very sensitive, I should like to demonstrate that I'm also just a human... and can have love sorrow'
Carey and you are still not long from each other, you make him black in 'So What' and yet he is in the video ...
'That comes because he is still my mate. He finds me bonkers, but he is great'.
'Funhouse' is your fifth album, an achievement in these times of 'Idols' and 'X Factor.
'It's amazing, yeah. But then I look at the career of Cher and it feels like I achieved nothing'. (laughs)
How do you start actually for an album?
'I'm writing numbers every day, everywhere I am. But the most of my albums I wrote in New York or in Château Marmont (Hotel in LA). It is a beautiful, sexy and antique Hotel and I am doing a lot of inspiration there'.
Have you beside music still suspenseful plan for the nearby future?
'Produce grapes for wine and save animals'.
Were you always an animal lover?
'When I was an infant was, I rescued the live of a frog. It may well be that I only helped the animal because it was in my swimming pool, but it meant much for me. Animals not hide their feelings and they lie not because they are authentic and pure and they give much love. I have now 3 dogs and they have taught me all 3 a bit of everything. My dog nanny taught me for example, that you sometimes simply must go on your back to let someone rubbing your belly. That is a very good live lesson!' (laughs)
Have you even other domestic animals?
'No, I am a dog lady, and if I am old, I will probably be the freaky woman from the vicinity. As a madam with silver dyed hair, ***k me-boots, a joint in the mouth and 85 dogs. I would like to see people gossip later when they pass my house'. (laughs)
What do you do if you are not writing, recording or touring?
'I'm often kayak on the ocean, that is my new hobby! Further I play with my dogs and drink litres good wine. I am addicted to wine. I read books everyday about wine and I have even at home wine barrels...
'Then we will shortly come for a drink! Do you have a beauty secret for when you must on the red carpet treatment?
'Bubbles! If you have a slide or 2 of champagne, you get a fine bloom. And it is also important that you're with good friends and don't take everything to serious.'
Do you diet?
'No way! I am trying to life healthy, but I do not always succeed. I am very active, so I must not really care about my weight, I had in the past problems with my figure, but now no longer. I have radius and I will always have.
Still one question: Do you think that it comes ever in order between you and Carey?
'However, our marriage was very strange and that is our separation too, but I can't answer your question. One of my favourite songs on 'Funhouse' is called 'Crystal Ball'. The song is about the fact that we can never know what will come in the future. And that's the way I like it!'

Pink takes a break from a photoshoot
36 of the best lyrics on Pink's new album+possible tracklist
Based on the ten tracks already delivered to her UK label, Pink has made a really great new album. A few of the songs on 'Funhouse' follow the 'So What' way of looking at her love life but most are raw, bleak and completely depressing. Here are 37 good bits of songword from the album.
- “I’m the instigator of underwear showing up here and there.”
- “Should I be hungry? I can’t remember the last time that I ate.”
- “Alright ma’am, calm down, I know your son said he was in my house, he was the captain of the football team but I turned him down - he won’t be the first and he won’t be the last.”
- “It’s never too late to send out all the invitations to the last night of your life.”
- “I can’t help that I like to party, it’s genetic.”
- “Sure, I’ll have another one, it’s early – three olives, shake it up, I like it dirty.”
- “So what if it’s only one o’clock in the afternoon.”
- “Wind me up and watch me go, where she stops nobody knows, a good excuse to be a bad influence on you and you and you and you and you and you and you and you and you.”
- “I’m off to see the doctor, I hope she has a cure, I hope she makes me better, what does that even mean?”
- “How do I feel this good sober?”
- “Every night the passion’s there so it’s got to be right, right?”
- “Am I sweating or are these tears on my face?”
- “All the lights are on but I’m in the dark.”
- “Does anyone see this? Lucky me - I guess I’m the chosen one.”
- “How did I become so obnoxious, what is it with you that makes me act like this? I’ve never been this nasty.”
- “Can’t you tell that this is all just a contest? The one who wins will be the one who hits the hardest.”
- “I forgot to say out loud how beautiful you really are to me.”
- “Da da dad a dad a dad a dad a dad a.”
- “Every night the passion’s there so it’s got to be right, right?"
- “I don’t wanna be the girl that has to fill the silence.” (This is followed by SOME SILENCE.)
- “Coming down coming down coming down, spinning round spinning round spinning round.”
- “I don’t know if I can yell any louder.”
- “How many times have I kicked you out of here or said something insulting?”
- “I am capable of anything, I can cut you into pieces when my heart is broken.”
- “I always say how I don’t need you but it’s always going to come right back to this: please don’t leave me.”
- “This museum’s full of ash, once a tickle now a rash.”
- “This used to be a fun house but now it’s full of evil clowns; it’s time to start the countdown, I’m going to burn it down.”
- “I just need a compass and a willing accomplice”
- “I’ve had my chances and I’ve taken them all, just to end up right back here on the floor.”
- “I’m learning to be brave in my beautiful mistakes.”
- “Irony is hating love, and hating what it does to me.”
- “I conjure up the thought of being gone.”
- “I’m bleeding out inside.”
- “It’s all your fault, you called me beautiful.”
- “It’s only half past the point of no return.”
- “I held my breath because you were perfect, but I’m running out of air.”

Pink turns to Scientology
Pop star PINK has reportedly turned to Scientology to help her move on after her split from husband CAREY HART.
The pair's two-year marriage ended earlier this year (08), and friends reveal the singer has sought comfort from pal Juliette Lewis, who is introducing her to the controversial religion, popular with superstars like Beck, Lisa Marie Presley, Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
A source tells Star magazine, "Pink is in the beginning stages of checking out the religion, but she has taken to it and she wants to get more involved."

Pink Leaves Her Birthday Party
Hollywood.TV's cameras were M!ssundaztood when they spotted Pink in this exclusive clip.
The U + Ur Hand singer was out at Madeo celebrating her 29th birthday and heading onwards. Her car heads up from the garage and has to wait for traffic. Traffic as well as what looks like a few over enthusiastic paparazzi. Pink is just as enthusiastic in displaying her disapproval. We can't hear what she's saying but her gestures make it pretty clear.
In a little black dress with a black bow in her hair Pink looks really cute, but with the attitude this kitty has claws. The paparazzi just eat it up.

Pink Goes Through The Ups And Downs Of VMA Rehearsal
Regular girls kick guys to the curb. Pink kicks them underground. Underground as in going towards the train platform.
The singer was part action heroine today during preliminary rehearsals for her VMA performance.
“Rock and roll,” she yelled from a fire escape on the back lot of Paramount studio. Standing next to a stunt woman, Pink was getting direction on how to slide down a large piece of silk.
Basically, you wrap your right leg around it, hold on tight and work your way down. The fearless performer had originally told MTV she wanted to straight up jump down to the street below, but the plan’s been switched to a graceful slide-down maneuver.
“Fu– it,” she said with a grin before lowering herself to the ground, wearing a tank top, sweat pants, platform heels and shades. She would repeat the process several times.
“How was it?” She asked on the ground.
On Sunday, when she’s doing the real thing, getting down to the ground is only going to be the start of the chaos. During “So What (I’m Still a Rock Star),” when she sings, “I wanna start a fight,” you’ll actually see it. Just ask the poor stunt man who keeps getting a boot to the chest and falling down steps leading to the subway. Don’t worry about him though… he’s taken that same tumble a couple of times on “CSI.”
“Am I gonna have this?” Pink asks with a grin when handed a flame thrower.
“She’s itching to try it!” one of the many people surrounding her said.
Later, it was back up the fire escape where Pink would have a heavy laugh with her female stunt coordinator. The singer said something that frightened the woman.
“I think I owe you two a drink after this,” Pink screamed to a man below while pointing to the stunt woman. Although, for the singer, “It’s not fun unless you’re scared.”
Right before the end of rehearsal, Pink tried to give her stunt a go in reverse. She did a handstand, then with bare feet tried to climb up to the fire escape. She made it about 80 percent up before doing a backflip–hands still gripping the silk–and going back down
